At last, Anton Oleinik,
Asst. Professor of Geography at FAU, will present us with a program entitled
"The Origin & Evolution of the Present-Day Cold Water Molluscan
Faunas in the North Pacific." This will be a look at the unusual
and not often collected shells and other creatures of the cold waters
around Alaska and other areas.

Miami Shell Auction
Oct 27, 2001. The Greater Miami Shell Club holds their annual shell
auction at the North Miami Jaycee Hall at 12100 W. Dixie Hwy in N. Miami.
Doors open at 6:30 PM and the auction begins at 7:30 PM. Door prizes,
snacks, food for sale, and great shells for auction! Don't miss it!!
BSC Shell Show
like to get an early start this year on our Shell Show Raffle. Please
send all monies and unused tickets back to Sally Marshall (see address
in newsletter). On the back of your ticket, write your choice for raffle
prize. There are some great items this year, photos of which can also
be found in this month's newsletter. Carole Marshall is this year's
shell show raffle chairperson.
Coast Shell Festival
Show rules and Applications are now available for the Space Coast SHell
Festival presented by the Astronaut Trail Shell Club, to be held January
18-20, 2002 at the Melbourne Auditorium, in Melbourne, FL. This year's
theme is "King Neptune's Shell Palace" and some of our more
hopeful members will be looking for the king's mermaids at the show!
